Although Cedele has many outlets island wide, it was my first time trying anything from them.
It was tea time so my dining partner and I decided to have cakes.
She had the Carrot and Walnut Cake ($6.00++) while I had Cranberry Scones with Mascaporne cheese ($6.50).
They offer another option where 1 scone cost $1.80 but without mascaporne. Scones aren’t the same without clotted cream, or in this case, substituted with mascarpone, so I went ahead even though that blob of mascaporne cost more than a scone.
In my opinion, the mascaporne was a good as clotted cream, though lacking the creamy taste but if this is the healthier choice I’m fine with it. The scones were alright for me. It was served slightly warm and the texture was slightly crumbly. It wasn’t too hard too. The cranberries are a much better option than raisins, which is more commonplace but disliked by me.
Overall, I recommend the scones from Cedele!
