It’s the season for pineapple tarts! Although pineapple tarts to Chinese new year is like a birthday cake to birthdays, I never really fancied it because pineapples are not my favourite.
However, baking sure is my favourite activity!
Pineapple tarts are really tedious. However the process sped up when I got the hang of it.
This is how I would suggest going about it:
- Prepare the dough and set aside
-
While dough sets aside for 30min, scoop and mould the pineapple fillings
- Roll out the dough and assemble it for baking
- Bake for 20 – 30min.
- While baking, prepare the dough for the next cycle!
It is best to use high quality ingredients for this. Same goes for any baking actually.
I used store bought pineapple fillings for this and there are different grades. Those from Sawarak are the most expensive and tastes better! If you can get your hands on those, do try it.
