Halia – Dinner

Without a clue for what to have for dinner, I decided on Halia because the Entertainer offer applies here and main courses are 1-for-1. The Entertainer only applies to the outlet at Raffles Hotel.

2

Garden salad, balsamic vinaigrette – $6.00++
Heirloom tomato salad, feta, balsamic – $8.00++

I preferred the feta salad. I love the heirloom tomatoes. These were good  for adding some fresh vegetables to my meal.

3

Halia Chilli Crab – $26.00++
Spaghettini, spring onion, egg

Essentially this is just chilli crab sauce with pasta. I’m not sure what else they did to tweak the recipe, but the sauce is indeed very similar to the real chilli crab of Singapore. People who wish to try the chilli crab without actually having a seafood meal could pretty much get the essence of it here.

This dish was offset using the Entertainer App.

1

Seafood Gratin (full) – $30.00++
Pignolina pasta, basil, emmental, olive oil

Even though the chilli crab spaghetti was supposed to be the iconic dish at Halia, I very much preferred this one! I know it looks like a regular baked pasta but it’s not. The pignolina pasta was really unique, looking like rice grains (but it’s really pasta). The flavours was well absorbed and the cheese was generous. The cheese is the main point. You got to love cheese to love this and I absolutely do. It can get a bit heavy so this should be shared. They also have it in half portion for those who are having it alone.

Ambiance: 710
Food: 7/10
Value: 7/10 (with Entertainer)
Overall: The food is pretty decent but prices at Halia are on the high side. I would recommend this place only if you are armed with the Entertainer App.
