L’Entrecôte The French Brasserie – Dinner

Entrecôte steak is a typical French way of serving steak with fries (steak frites) and originally they’ll only serve it either rare of medium. No other doneness. Fries was always free flow (and there’s only 1 type. No truffle fries) and it comes with a small salad to start. Wine was cheap by the glass and they don’t offer any other appetizer or main course on their menu. It wasn’t the best steak experience but it was a very French experience to bring home when I had this in Paris.

In Singapore, the country which has food from everywhere, we have Parisian steak frites too, but the restaurant’s concept is kind of different from the original in Paris, I don’t think they’re related. This restaurant at Suntec city offers other main courses, more appetizers and is basically like a French bistro which also serves entrecôte steak along with other higher grades of steak like Australian wagyu. The outlet at Duxton offers other appetizers but stuck to having only one steak for main course.

The Entertainer offer was applicable to the steak so getting it at 1 for 1 was a good bargain. Each order of the steak comes with the same salad and fries. I ordered the house wine too and it really reminded me of Paris. It tasted like cheap wine, just that it isn’t ‎€3 here.

Escargots de Bourgogne/ Garlic Butter Snails – $13.00++

This was decent but you can easily find better ones somewhere else. Like maybe in Bourgogne.

Entrecôte Steak & Fries – $32.90++

I forgot and ordered medium rare for mine, but medium would be better like how it originally is in Paris. The steak was decent enough and the fries were overflowing like it should be. The one I had in Paris wasn’t super fantastic to begin with so this one easily matched up.

Profiteroles de “L’Entrecôte” – $12.00++
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Profiteroles With Hot Chocolate Sauce

Looks delicious and it was good enough. On a side note, I drank some wine after my dessert. Wine usually taste bad after having something sweet because your sweet taste buds would be affected and sweetness from the wine would be taken off, magnifying the bitterness and acidity but this wine didn’t taste any different… only because it was this bad to begin with. But then again, the bad wine was all part of the authentic Paris experience. Sure tasted like €3 and close enough to what I had in Paris! (Not being sarcastic).

Ambiance: 7/10
Food: 7/10
Value: 7/10 (with Entertainer App)
Overall: Just go for the Entrecôte Steak & Fries and perhaps a dessert to share.
