Yes, we will have a cafe themed after Japan Rail (JR) in Singapore very soon! It will be opening it’s doors at the all new Tanjong Pagar Center from 4th December 2016!
The first travel themed café in the world operated by JR East, JAPAN RAIL CAFE sets off from its first station, Singapore.
Its aim is to be a “Platform for Real Japan, Platform for Real Communication” where Japan lovers can have a physical space to build a community for sharing their travel experiences and memories.
If you’ve been following my Japan travel posts, you’ll know that I take the trains a lot, even bringing my luggage with me from town to town. For a free and easy trip, you’ll definitely benefit a lot by planning your travelling by train, be it local trains or Shinkansen. Exclusive for us foreigners, we get to buy rail passes when we visit japan to get unlimited rides. Considering how expensive a single ride on the Shinkansen is, this will amount in great savings, and there are many kinds of passes to suit different needs as there are passes for different areas and number of days. Shinkansen iconic of Japan and you MUST try it at least once!
Besides just serving food and drinks, JR Cafe provides information regarding JR passes and Japan travel at the cafe. For those planning your trip to Japan, you could conveniently purchase your passes at JR Cafe. Won’t that be just the perfect place to meet up with your friends when planning your trip together?
It is highly advisable to buy the passes before arriving in Japan because it’ll be one less errand to do upon arriving and purchasing it outside of Japan could entitle you to further savings too!
Special Event
As part of the official launch, there will be special seminars regarding the Tohoku region – the featured region for the month of December!
