My third visit to Equinox was for lunch. On the 70th floor of Swissotel the Stamford, the view was indeed more interesting than most other restaurants.
We were lucky to be offered a window seat this time!
For lunch at Equinox, they offer a semi buffet lunch. This isn’t your regular buffet style, as you get to order one main course and it’s non replenishable. There are several choices for the main course, and on the day I visited, this was what they offered:
I picked the Grilled Sea Bream, while my partner picked the Grilled Beef Tenderloin. I’m interested to try the warm white asparagus if I have the chance to visit again!
We started off with self serve dishes from the buffet tables. I didn’t manage to snap ALL the food available, but here are some of the options available:
Fresh sashimi
Assorted sushi
Sri lankan crabs, mussels, prawns, calms and OYSTERS! If I’m not wrong, the 2 buckets of oysters were not of the same type.
Cheese and crackers
Desserts
Foie Gras – the highlight of this buffet. There’s a free flow of foie gras and this could be ordered through any waiter. They’ll serve it to your table.
This was a major attraction as I love foie gras!
From the salad bar (which I didn’t snap a picture of)
Our main course:
Grilled Sea Bream, Beetroot Salad and Passionfruit Sauce
I only got to have my main course after going through several rounds of food from the self serve buffet, so I was pretty full by the time I got to try this. I’m not sure if it’s due to the bloatedness at that moment, but I found the taste of this to be very forgettable. Not that it wasn’t good – it definitely didn’t taste bad, but it just wasn’t special enough. Perhaps I really should have tried the white asparagus.
Grilled Beef Tenderloin -Medium Rare, Onion Marmalade, Red Wine Sauce
My partner chose this as his main course. According to him it was good. But perhaps, not one of the best steaks in town either. Better, maybe.
After having our mains, we proceeded on to try out the desserts!
There’s a chocolate fondue available too
Included in this meal too, was coffee or tea. They serve TWG tea. That wraps up a wonderful lunch!
With Feed at Raffles, we were entitled to 50% off the total bill, for 2 pax. The usual price for this buffet is $59++/pax.
