I paid an impromptu visit to Seah Street Deli, located in Raffles Hotel. I had the Feed at Raffles card, which entitled me to 50% off.
Apparent from the interior, this restaurant is very similar to Billy Bomber’s, but probably better. They serve American food.
I’ve heard of how the prices have increased tremendously over the recent years, and indeed, it was very pricey. However, with 50% off, it was still affordable. I’ll be listing my prices after discount.
As it is an American restaurant, the portions were HUGE. It fed me fuller than having a 3 course meal, and can probably feed 2 or 3 girls.
Grilled Salmon steak with lemon sauce, vegetables and potato wedges – $16.00++
I had the salmon and sadly, the salmon wasn’t very impressive. The size of it was HUGE. The salmon from Everything with Fries was probably just 1/3 of this size. However, the salmon was totally cooked through and I didn’t really like it that way (well done). Not to say that it wasn’t fresh, but I guess they just didn’t cook it well.
The potato wedges were good. They were crispy and tasty.
Ironically, I enjoyed the vegetables the most. I love the 2 giant spears of asparagus. It was softened just right, and there was hardly any toughness from fibre. The broccoli and carrots were soft too, but not mushy. I like my vegetables to be soft (like boiled) as I hate crunchy vegetables or fruits. I do not like cauliflowers in general.
Angus beef patty (250g) with BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, onion and cheddar cheese on a long sesame bun – $18.50++
I guess this was expensive due to the fact that the HUGE patty was made of Angus beef. The portion was very huge – probably larger than a Carls Junior burger. You get to select the doneness of the patty as well. I tried a mouth and it was very tasty. There is definitely a difference between this patty and the cheap ones from fast food chains.
The fries were good too. It was just nice – not soggy at all, yet not hard. It was crispy on the outside but soft inside.
Beef pot roast – $17.50++
I didn’t get to try this one.

Ambiance: 6.5/10
Food: 6.5/10
Value: 6.5/10 (after 50% discount)
Overall: for a hotel’s restaurant, the food isn’t the most impressive. This would not be a place which I would crave to dine at. However, since the portions were huge, it’d be good to share each main among 2 and that would be quite worth it. This meal, however, fed me fuller than a 3 course meal at most other restaurants.
