TCC have recently (or not so) renamed themselves as The Connoisseur Concerto. I’m not sure what other changes they have made to their operations or menu as I seldom patronise them.
There are many TCC outlets in Singapore but certain outlets have nicer interior. The one at Pier@Robertson was particularly interesting, with swinging chairs!
However, it made me a bit dizzy and I chose to a more comfortable seat.
High Tea Set – $12.90++ (topped up $3.50 for rose tea)
They change the content of their High Tea set every month. It comes with standard coffee or tea (by cup). You could top up the difference to get other drinks.
The rose bud tea was very fragrant and refreshing.
The scones were surprisingly quite good! They were more of the shortbread sort rather than the cake like sort. It was quite dry but very crumbly and crispy.
One scone was raisin filled and one was chocolate chip filled. The scone was choke full of scone
flavour, which was like buttery and flavourful.
The cream provided wasn’t Devonshire (clotted) cream. It was like a liquid cream, with a texture like molten white chocolate. However, the taste was good so I’m not too affected.
The savoury rolls weren’t anything special but not anything horrible. It was quite typical tortilla wrap with some spicy filling.
They were all served warm which was good.
The puff pastry was crispy and flaky but perhaps I was in the mood for sweets so I didn’t really enjoy this. It was topped with prawn.
The cheesecake (not sure if it is, but has the texture of) was good! I could have more of it.
The mousse however, didn’t suit my liking and I didn’t finish it. I typically do not fancy such desserts.

Ambiance: 8/10
Food: 8/10
Value: 7.5/10
Overall: not a bad choice for a simple high tea, especially with so many outlets island wide.
