Red Velvet Cupcakes – Baking

I made my first attempt at Red Velvet cake in the form of cupcakes and they turned out fine!

My advice for good tasting cakes is to use the best ingredients you can get.

I used Hershey’s Cocoa Powder and it’s better than the Phoon Huat brand, which smells foul.

I use this vanilla extract and I know it’s good because I’ve seen it on countless TV shows! From Donna Hay, Rachel Allen to Sugar on Food Network, they use this.

The next time I make this, I’ll make it a point to have less cake in each cupcake.

  1. Hi, where do you buy the Vanilla extract? I’ve never seen it before?
then for the frosting on top of the cupcake, do you use scs cream cheese and the milk?
hope to hear soon. Thanks alot.

    • Hi, you can get that vanilla extract from Phoon Huat. This bottle costs around $10 – $11. the frosting doesnt have milk, the milk in the cupcakes. you could find recipes online! i found mine randomly but can’t remember which page. most of them have about the same procedures and ingredients.

      • Ok, I’ll check it out. I saw ur choc cupcake recipe and for the frosting contains milk?
Do you mind share/email this RVC recipe? Thanks..:)

      • For the chocolate its another recipe altogether. im sorry i didn’t save the recipe for the red velvet as i just referred to online recipes, and actually i don’t think these were the most perfect so i didn’t copy it down!
