La Strada used to be my favourite Italian restaurant in Singapore before it closed it’s doors on my birthday last year (how timely!). It has the best cabornara and when it reopened, I naturally had to have it again!
The restaurant took over the space that Annam used to be, at Shaw Center. The concept was different from La Strada in the past, being more homely. It is like the Italian equivalent of Bistro Du Vin, it’s sister restaurant. The prices are generally lower than before as well. However, the place was a lot more cramped and noisy than before so I guess that’s the new image they were seeking.
Chitarra Carbonara – $25.00++
Yes, this is still the best! Do try it. No regrets here. Even if carbonara is not your thing, still try it. Be open to new things and be pleasantly surprised.
Linguine Vongole – $20.00++
This is one decent version of vongole. I cannot really remember what it used to be in the past, but this one’s pretty good too.
Flourless Chocolate Cake – $10.00++
Because life should be sweet, I wanted to have dessert. This was decently good as well, but I admit I was more interested in the ice cream!
