Hong Kong – Azure Restaurant slash Bar

My last activity of the trip was to spend the afternoon leisurely having afternoon tea. I chanced upon this place when checking out Travelzoo and they offered the Afternoon Tea set for 2 for HK$268 ($43.50). Trazelzoo works just like Groupon and it has to be purchased in advanced.

This restaurant is located on the top floor of Hotel LKF by Rhombus. I did not expect it to be located on top of a hill and only found out when I was trying to find my way there. For those with heavy baggage or accessibility problems, I suggest you take a taxi up.

Along with the set you will get 2 drinks – Sparkling wine or juice and coffee or tea.

The amount of food is pretty substantial and the presentation was up to expectations too.

Taste wise, the top tier of cooked food was the best. My favourite was the seared foie gras which was just as good as any other legit restaurant’s and the soft shell crab spring roll which was unique and very crispy even when no longer hot. The burger patty was medium done – which I appreciate and the oyster, though cooked, was big and juicy.

For the middle tier, the chocolate ring was my favourite because the chocolate used was dark enough. The cheesecake and brownie was good as well. The “burger” cupcake was very cute to look at but was just ordinary in my opinion because I was too full to really enjoy a cup cake. The carrot cake and scone was less than average.

The lower tier of sandwiches were pretty average but served it’s purpose because afternoon tea is not complete without finger sandwiches.

The ambiance was relaxing and I liked the high ceilings and ample light. For the price, the value was very good and it definitely worth it.
