LA PARMIGIANA DI MELANZANE CON MOZZARELLA, POMODORO E BASILICO – $24.00++
Oven-baked Eggplant with Mozzarella, Basil and Tomato Sauce
Typical Italian appetizer here.
TORTELLI DI PECORINO CON FONDUTA DI PARMIGIANO GRATINATI AL TARTUFO – $42.00++
Fresh Homemade Pecorino-filled Tortelli with Parmesan Cream and Seasonal Truffles
If you are intending to get this one for yourself, I will warn you that the portion is as tiny as shown above and you definitely need more food. I also warn that this is strictly for cheese and cream lovers because the portion size aside, this is a very creamy and cheesy dish. The sauce was rich enough and when the filling of the tortelli is Percorino cheese, you are basically eating a mouthful of cheese and cream. I did like the texture of the homemade pasta though, and not forgetting the fresh truffle shavings. The richness of the cream and cheese was subdued subtly by the aromatic truffles which gives the dish some other aroma than that of diary.
LA PIZZA MARGHERITA – $22.00++
Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil
Having tried VPN pizza, my preference is skewed towards that sort. This pizza here has a crispy thin crust which is also nice, but not anywhere near VPN style pizza.
LA BISTECCA ALLA FIORENTINA TRADIZIONALE ALLA GRIGLIA CON PATATE AL FORNO E CANNELLINI ALLA SALVIA E PEPERONCINO – $180.00++ / 1.2kg
Traditional Fiorentina served with Roasted Potatoes, and Cannellini Beans with Sage and Fresh Chilli Premium Grain-fed Beef from Rangers Valley, Australia
The meat quality was good angus beef, flavourful and tender on it’s own, and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, even throughout the whole steak. This Fioentina steak was pretty good and very satisfying.
I like how they provided a hot stone to further cook the beef if any of us preferred something more cooked. This solves the issue of different diners having different preference of doneness!
IL FILETTO DI MANZO ALLA GRIGLIA CON PATATE SCHIACCIATE E SPINACI SALTATI – $50.00++
Grilled Beef Tenderloin Served with Mashed Potato and Sauteed Spinach Premium Grain-fed Beef from Rangers Valley, Australia
The tenderloin, as anticipated, was as good as the tenderloin section of the Fiorentina above. If you really do not like the striploin portion you can just order this instead of Fiorentina.
This restaurant may not be the best Italian restaurant in Singapore but for somewhere out of town in the East where there are much fewer options, this is a pretty good restaurant already for quality food and steak. The peaceful location does add points and I wouldn’t mind returning!
