This restaurant is located in RWS, under Crockford Towers hotel and was opened in March 2010 by celebrity chef Scott Webster. I visited this restaurant twice. This is probably one of the best restaurants in RWS for this price range.
Osia is honoured in Singapore’s Best Restaurant Guide 2011 by Singapore Tatler.
Osia has been crowned Best New Restaurant by CNNGo’s Best Eats awards 2010
They serve a 3 course pre dinner set menu ($38++), from Sunday to Thursday, from 6pm – 7:30pm. I highly recommend being there during this time slot for dinner, as the items served in the set were actually on the ala carte menu as well, which was pricey on its own. Additionally, $38++ for a 3 course set dinner is actually on the low side, comparing with other restaurants of similar quality. Alternatively, the same set was served for lunch as well. I’m not sure if the lunch option still applies now.
This menu was from December 2010.
Bread isn’t free at Osia. We ordred the Black Olive Rosemary Flatbread ($9++). It comes with butter, olive oil and a random bread spread. For that visit, we were given Macadamia cheese.
This bread was really good! Crisp on the outside, fluffy inside. The seasoning was tasty too.
Appetizer- smoked salmon trout
Appetizer – Polenta Crumbed Foie Gras
I ordered this, and I loved it! The portion of the Foie Gras was a little too small though, for something this yummy. The Daikon was juicy and crunchy and went really well with the buttery soft Foie Gras.
Main course – Australian Beef Hanging Tenders
My dining claimed that this beef was good so I was determined to try this the next time.
Main course – Barramundi
I had this for my main course. This fish was good! It was fresh and not overcooked. The meat was soft and tender.
Dessert – Lemon Parfait
The green thing there isn’t lime. It’s green tea ice ball! This dessert was light and refreshing to the palate. Definitely the choice for weight watchers.
Dessert – Valrhona Hot Chocolate Soup
I ordered the Valrhona Hot Chocolate Soup and this was outstanding. The ice cream flavour was BLACK PEPPER! The chocolate soup was actually like a molten lava cake, but with more lava than cake. It was a perfect combination with the black pepper ice cream, which wasn’t too sweet.
Coffee or tea – they serve TWG tea, and I ordered French Earl Grey.
On a second occasion, I dined at Osia for lunch. The same 3 course set was available.
Red Center Spice Flat Bread ($9++). The toothpaste dip that day was Spiced Garbanzo.
Osia Meslun Greens ($15++). Ordered extra salad to share among 3, as the 3 course set wasn’t filling, based on the previous experience. This was actually available on the set menu too but we wanted more to eat. The greens were fresh and crisp.
Appetizer – Emulsion of Forest Mushroom
Appetizer – Polenta Crumbed Foie Gras
Yes, I ordered this again. I can’t get enough of this!
Main course – Australian Beef Hanging Tender with Cannellini Bean Cassoullet and Smoked Tomato Sauce.
I ordered the beef this time. I didn’t regret it as it was really good. Tender and juicy, it left more impression on me than the barramundi. However, this was done medium and I kind of wish it was less cooked.
Dessert – Valrhona Hot Chocolate Soup with Black Peppered Ice Cream and Sesame Crisp
Since this was so good, I opted to have this again. No regrets.
