I signed up for the SUN privilege card for $20, when I was at SUN Japanese Dining 2 days ago. I got a $20 cash voucher, so I utilised it at SUN with MOON today.
They serve their café menu from 3pm to 6pm. The restaurant was almost empty.
Sweets Box – $9.80++
The content of the sweets box change daily. You do not get to choose it and it’s fixed.
Melon ice cream
The melon taste was kind of artificial. The texture was like a sherbet, and it was very refreshing.
Dango
These weren’t as chewy and I hoped they were. Nothing special about it
Goma
I didn’t really like this as I’m not a fan of sweet potato
Matcha tofu cheesecake
This was the best among the 4! However, it’s only half the size of the ala carte version. I wished I had forgo the sweets box and just order 2 full slices perhaps. SUN with MOON has the best tofu cheesecake ever. No tofu taste was detected by me, by the way. It tasted like normal cheesecake to me, but without the sick creamy taste. It was lighter in texture and flavour.
Macaron – $7.50++
This was the largest macaron I’ve ever tried. It was tasty, chewy, and in fact, I really liked the macaron! But it was too much for me to handle and I didn’t finish it. Note that the macaron, despite the large size, had feet!
As the restaurant was big, empty and had full panel windows, it was quite nice to spend an idyllic time there watching the cars on the street below through the window and just relaxing on the PVC cushioned seats. However, the service was just normal – bad, and the seats were quite worn out, apparent from cracking of the PVC.
Note that I didn’t order tea because the Yuzu Peach Tea and Blueberry Tea were not available. The only other teas by the pot were boring green tea or rice tea, and the waitress failed to explain to me the differences. For $4.90, I wouldn’t pay for just green tea, since it’s free at almost all Japanese restaurants.

Overall: just try the tofu cheesecakes, in any flavour! I shall try the strawberry one next.
