Mooncakes 2011 and promotions

Mooncake can rival macarons, ice cream or cakes as my favourite pastry! If it wasn’t available only once a year, I would have it for my birthday cake.

I like snow skin and non conventional flavours in particular, though I do like the usual lotus paste ones too.

Here are some mooncakes I’m aiming to get and some promotions to make it better. I found all information on their respective websites so I’m not liable if there’s any discrepancies.

  • Jewel Artisan Chocolate

30% off mooncakes, if you spend $10 at their café! Looks like a good reason for me to try out their macarons. I’m rather interested to try their black garlic one!

  • Goodwood Park Hotel

The new Lychee with Lime Marshmallow Snowskin Mooncake combines both tropical flavours perfectly to form a unique refreshing creation. The homemade marshmallow bursts with the zesty flavor of fresh limes and adds a deliciously different texture to every bite. It is nestled within sweet lychee puree which also contains juicy bits of lychee for added bite.

Back by popular demand is the Mango with Pomelo Snowskin Mooncake which has garnered fans with its smooth mango puree with mango cubes and pomelo sac. Equally delectable are our signature D24 Durian and Cempedak Snowskin Mooncakes. Every bite is generously filled with the rich creamy paste made from fresh pulp of D24 durians and Cempedak fruits.

Don’t miss our handcrafted baked selection of traditional mooncakes such as Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolks and Assorted Nuts with Ham. Recommended buy is the Assorted Baked Combo which is great as a gift and a perfect way to try the popular flavours available!

Marvel at our new Mega “Mao Shan Wang” Snowskin Mooncake – a 12cm golden yellow masterpiece generously filled with this luscious premium durian pulp. Presented in an elegant gold silk drawstring pouch, this mega-sized mooncake is perfect as a luxurious gift! Hurry! There is only a limited quantity available!

I tried the snow skin ones before, last year or the year before. Their specialty lies in their cheese flavoured mooncakes!

Available at Checkers Deli.

  • Raffles Hotel

20% discount at Chevron House booth. no discount at Raffles Hotel.

Available at Raffles Hotel and their booth at Chevron House.

I’ve been having this for the past 3 years at least, in large amounts each year, and they never disappoint! I regard all other champagne truffle filled counterparts as knock offs for the famous Raffles Hotel champagne truffle snowskin mooncake.

Note that this is not to be confused with Royal China’s mooncakes! I’m sure many would have been confused as Royal China is located in Raffles Hotel, but I guess they are not run under the same management. The printing on the mooncake mould is different for both too.

  • Paradise Group

Until 12th September, 15% off for certain credit card holders and 20% off for Paradise Gourmet Cardholders.

Available at Taste Paradise and other Paradise Group restaurants.

  • St. Regis

No discount available.

Available at La Boutique in St. Regis Singapore.

I’ve tried the baked mooncakes last year and actually I can’t remember much about it except that they were nice.

  • TWG

I’m not sure how much their mooncakes cost nor heard of any reviews about it but their having a mooncake high tea special at ION Orchard.

  • Fullerton Hotel

20% off baked mooncakes and 15% off snowskin mooncakes at Suntec City booth.

  • Peach Garden

Available at Peach Garden restaurants, Clementi Mall, Nex and Parkway Parade.

Promotion of 15% off for DBS/UOB card holders (but I’m not sure if snow skin is included).

I’m very interested to try these macaron mooncakes!

And there are many many more discounts out there and I can’t possibly list them all down. Do compare prices as they’re not priced the same everywhere!
