With Pizza as its main attraction, it was the first restaurant that came to my mind when I was craving for some Italian pizza one day.
I am not a fan of the American style pizza (like Pizza Hut, Dominos, Canadian pizza, California Pizza Kitchen etc), as I generally am indifferent to the crust. I would rather enjoy more cheese and toppings in each mouthful than bread. Also, they I prefer Italian pizza flavours.
At Peperoni Pizzeria, their pizzas are thin crust and baked in a wood fire oven, which is exactly the sort I like! I remember there used to be a restaurant near Suntec’s fountain that served wood fire pizzas too, but that was probably 7 years ago, and now defunct.
I love how they allow 2 flavours on a single pizza and extra toppings, making it great for sharing if you disagree on a single flavour.
Frutti di Mare & Proscuitto Crudo di Parma with extra toppings of mixed mushroom (large) – $27nett
My favourite flavour would be the parma ham and rocket. I find that rocket goes perfect with pizza! Non salad lovers wouldn’t understand but I absolutely love rocket. The mushrooms were very fresh and delicious too.
I did not try the Frutti di Mare as that was my dining partner’s order.
Capricciosa & Saucisson (XXL) – $50nett
I was craving for pizza again 1 week later so I went down again! This time we had 4 people so the 21″ XXL pizza was the ideal choice. They would slice the pizza into squares so it’s great for me, who would rather have no crust, as I could go for the middle pieces!
This is good for 3 (starving people) or 4 (normal appetite) or maybe 5 (small eaters).
We picked the flavour that has the most variety of toppings, which were these 2 as they had ham, peperoni, artichokes, olives, shitake, bell peppers, onions and roasted garlic. I liked the Saucisson better as the combination of onions, bell pepper, garlic, peperoni and cheese was really good! The crunch from the vegetables and ooziness of the cheese gave it some variation in texture.
My next aim would be 4 formaggi, napoletana, pancetta, margherita!
I definitely think it’s a good idea to have pizza outside as you most likely would not own a wood fire oven at home.
