New York and Cheesecake is always closely associated and it would be a shame to not have a really good one while in New York (even though, logically speaking, somewhere else in the world could do it better).
I am happy to have finally tasted some cheesecakes good enough to easily be the best cheesecakes in my life! Another reason to love New York.
The shop at Lower East Side is really small but it is not unknown. The queue was ongoing from the moment I stepped in to the moment I finished having my cheesecakes.
They have SO MANY flavours, and as mentioned, I am not a boring original-flavour-only person. I will experiment with many flavours and I obviously had a hard time deciding. I can’t possible finish one of each even though I would very much like to.
After serious internal conflict (well not really, at that moment when I had to place my order I was quite stressed with the long queue behind me. I just had to anyhow pick 3 impulsively before I even got to familiarize myself with all the flavours they had. If I could have it my way I would probably spend 45 minutes deciding my flavour. It’s true that only impulse gets the job done.), I settled for Plain, Caramel and Cookies‐N‐Cream.
Plain – USD$3.50
The cheesecake was perfect in many ways. The cheese was rich and dense enough (I like to actually have something to bite) and the taste was just right – not too sweet with a bit of sourness.
Caramel – USD$3.50
This was just like the plain flavour but with caramel on top. Obviously it was sweeter but still good. I don’t think I’ll order this again given so many other options to choose from.
Cookies‐N‐Cream – USD$3.50
This one’s something different. The crust uses Oreo cookies instead of Graham crackers. I am a fan of Oreo like flavours and I really liked this one.
