Ô COMPTOIR – Dinner

If it wasn’t for the Entertainer, I probably wouldn’t think about trying this place. This place is located really near my yoga studio and it was one night after yoga that I wanted something new for dinner. I decided to check this place out and learnt that it was a french crêperie serving crêpes and galettes. I love crêpes and galettes especially the ones in France but had no luck finding a satisfactory one in Singapore. I didn’t expect to be so lucky here! On a Monday night, the place was relatively empty and the dinner was peaceful. And the 1 for 1 on galettes applied and made the meal super value for money!

It was quite dim at night and I didn’t have good photos. I returned within a week for lunch after yoga and it was really crowded with a lot of foreigners (they must be really well informed about this place) having wine for lunch. The wait for my meal was longer than it should have been, so I would recommend to avoid such peak hours.

My third time here was on a Sunday evening, around 6pm. It was Easter Sunday but generally the CBD area is deserted on weekends, so definitely no crowd problem this time. The timing was good to take nicer pictures too.

Dolce Vita
Tomato, mozzarella, emmental, proscuitto, basil

This is the one in the background. All galettes are made with buckwheat flour so it is gluten free. The galette itself is already delicious, slightly crispy. This combination was good.

Khao San Road
Prawn, mango, tomato, bean sprout, sunny egg, mint, peanut

I decided to be adventurous and tried something fusion, but it wasn’t as good as the cheesy versions. I’ll say stick to the European creations.

Buzz Me
Honey, lemon, toasted almonds

The previous times I didn’t have space for sweet crêpes because the galettes were really filling (looks can be deceiving), but my energy consumption for today was unusually high so I had more space for this. Crêpes are made with wheat flour so this is not gluten free. I honestly could not decide on just one flavour but went ahead with this randomly. It means I have to return again for more! This was good, no regrets. I even tossed the leftover lemon slices (with honey smeared on it) into my cup of water for some honey lemon infusion.

Ambiance: 7/10
Food: 8/10
Value: 8/10 (with Entertainer 1 for 1)
Overall: Authentic and delicious French crêpes and galettes.
