I’m not vegan (if I was this blog probably has to shut down) but I also do not require animal products in my meal. Having a vegan or vegetarian meal once in a while is fully acceptable to me, if it happens to be the best option around my place.
I have this policy where if I can’t think of what to have for dinner, I’ll just choose the healthiest option since all I need is to replenish my fuel, so that’s how I end up eating vegan or vegetarian options. And I personally do not find the taste or satiation any inferior to non-vegetarian meals.
Loving Hut is an international brand with more than 200 restaurants all over the world. This one in Singapore has a menu unique to Singapore, so the only similarity to other outlets around the world would be the concept of being 100% vegan.
“We use as much organic vegetables and non-GMO products as possible for all our dishes and drinks, with a particular focus on sourcing our ingredients from local producers to offer our customers the most natural, healthiest and most delicious cuisines.”
I’ve been here 3 times so here’s featuring some of my favourite items.
Avocado smoothie with coconut milk, coconut flesh and coconut water. It’s so good, the best avocado smoothie I’ve tried!
Watermelon juice served with a glass straw.
Green tea and lemongrass drink on the left, rose and lemon on the right. I had the option of having no sugar added so of course I did. I liked my rose drink.
Char Kway Teow
Typical hawkers fry it with pork lard, though I do know of some which do not. Anyway, I was never a fan of char kway teow, being just neutral towards it all along. I do not understand the effect of pork lard on the taste so this vegan one tastes totally fine.
